Donate NowPrisma Health Upstate Foundation
The Prisma Health–Upstate Board of Directors has created a new philanthropic foundation – the Prisma Health−Upstate Foundation – to help mobilize our community to change the health trajectory of South Carolina. The Foundation has applied for recognition by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization, with operations expected to launch in fall 2023. Until then, gifts should still be made to the Prisma Health Office of Philanthropy (tax ID: 81-1723202). We are pleased to continue working with donors interested in supporting the work of Prisma Health physicians, nurses, researchers, and other talented health care providers. Never has there been a more important endeavor.
Thank you for helping to ensure a healthier Upstate. We couldn’t do it without you!

Reflecting on a Year of Impact: Prisma Health – Upstate Foundation’s 2023 Journey
As we approach the close of 2023, the Prisma Health – Upstate Foundation, previously known as the Prisma Health – Upstate Office of Philanthropy, invites you to join us in a moment of reflection on a year defined by remarkable impact.
Our heartfelt appreciation extends to the individuals, team members, and community partners who have consistently championed our mission to inspire health, serve with compassion, and make a positive difference in the lives we touch.
Now, let’s journey back and revisit the highlights of this incredible year!
Inspire Courage! Children’s Hospital-Upstate kicks off $6 million campaign
Children’s Hospital-Upstate launched a campaign to raise $6 million for a new pediatric cancer and blood disorders unit that will combine “whole family care” with exceptional clinical expertise and provide more treatment space in the Upstate.
The unit will care for children and adolescents with cancer, blood disorders, and sickle cell disease. Patient family suggestions were incorporated into the innovative design to help families feel more at home during what can be lengthy and repeated hospitalizations.
Hogs for the Cause, a non-profit barbecue competition and festival based in New Orleans with significant ties to South Carolina, kicked off the capital campaign by donating $1 million.
16th Annual Run4Life 5K & Family Fun Run raises $130,200!
Thank you to our sponsors and race participants who played a part in the Prisma Health Cancer Institute’s Run4Life 5K and Family Fun Run.
With the community’s support, we were able to raise $130,200 for cancer research and patient support programs across the Upstate! Thank you for making a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families and sending a strong message of encouragement and hope to those battling cancer.
It’s never too late to be a part of the impact – consider contributing to the cause by making a donation. Your continued support fuels our mission to create a brighter, healthier future for all.
